Moroz Family Summer 2022

  Wednesday August 3rd Up early to make Jacob breakfast and pack his lunch before he heads off to install blinds all day. Krista off to work before 730. I cleaned the house and the garage for a couple hours. I started to change oil in the Honda Civic and realized I had the wrong oil filter so I had to run to Canadian tire and get the correct one. Came home and finish the oil change, mowed the lawn and trimmed everything up nicely. Got changed into my golf volunteer uniform and headed out to the course. Parked at Saint Mary’s University and rode the shuttle bus over to the course. I arrived and checked in with my supervisor and grabbed a bite to eat at the volunteer centre with another volunteer. Delicious cheeseburger and bottled water. Shifts started at 1 PM and we are responsible for making sure all the golf carts are available for golfers and head honchos to drive around the course.  Made a few trips around the area to see the different facilities that are available and wat...

  Sunday July 31   We survived the night in the dirt cheap $85 hotel and all was fine. Woke up at 530 and awake til 645 but fell asleep and woke up at 9! Yikes. Showered and out the door to meet the folks at the Days Inn and swap some stuff before headed out to Fishing lake. Stopped at Tim’s for a snack.  Out onto 16A and pulled into Fishing Lake an hour later to have a short bit sweet visit with the Stolarchuks.  Back on the highway to Kelvington, stopped to wash the car and then to Greenwater Lake for lunch at the cafe. Had a great visit with the Armitage clan and over to Marven and Arlene Shields for a visit.  Headed toward Bjorkdale with a quick stop to pray for my grandparents and Aunt Helen at the cemetery.  Arrived at Dale and Darlene’s acreage to a dozen motorhomes and trailers and people everywhere to celebrate Uncle Ray and Aunt Cheryl’s 50th wedding anniversary.   Monday, August 1 One of us slept in until 9 AM, I could piece of toast and out the door for Another busy day. We drove over to uncle Byron‘s place and had a nice visit with him on his 66th birthday! I gave him a copy of all my summer adventures to read and he will get an extra present in the mail soon! We drove around town for a while looking at some of the sites as it had been 10 Years since KRISTA had been back. We drove out east to our old acreage and took a few pictures of the outside. The new owners were on holidays and fishing lake but I called her and she said I could take a peek around the inside of the house! They are doing a major renovation and have knocked down many walls and changed many things so it will be very interesting to see how it looks in the future. We left the farm and headed west and stopped in Tisdale to get fuel.   Rider game July 29th Summer Adventure 4B!! An impromptu detour to Regina Sask to attend the Saskatchewan Roughriders BC Lions CFL game en route to the Family reunion.   A haphazardly lucky opportunity to walk on the actual field and carry an immense Canada flag prior to the playing and singing of our national anthem.  A spectacular evening of football and crossing paths with old friends (whom I shall detail in other posts to follow). I even managed to drag my wife out and get her to smile after our adventures today. Blessed to enjoy this exceptional day!  🙏❤️🎉

  Saturday July 30 Up at 5 for no apparent reason. Moving by 645. Showered. Car packed. Fuelled up. Breakfast by 715 and gone by 730. Quick stop at Starbucks and off to Yorkton for the family reunion. Car ran great. Had to take a few back roads but ended up at Saltcoats by 10 and dropped Krista off at Mom and Dads Motorhome and I headed off to the Golf tournament.  Lovely little 9 hole course - Best ball tourney. Our team of 2 adults and 2 kids did really well and ended up with Par 27! I hope it’s good enough for the win!  Visited the owners of the golf club in their 116 year old house they are using as a clubhouse. Amazing!  Meanwhile Krista went out for lunch and won $19 on a VLT! Lucky girl!  We left the course and met everyone at Uncle Ewen’s and Aunt Shirley’s in Saltcoats for a great visit for a couple hours before heading over to the hall.  We had a spectacular supper of roast beef and salads and desserts.  An outstanding program with remembranc...
