Not so much vim and vigour to start the day after 30000 steps yesterday. Up at the crack of nine! We had to rush in order to make it downstairs for breakfast before it shut down at 10. Highlights included super fresh bagels and the French toast station with fresh fruit, Nutella and agave!
I chatted with a fella in his early 30s as he was tearing apart a bagel and was politely trying to point out how to use the bagel slicer. We struck up a conversation and he thanked me several times. He said he was from France and asked where I was from and when I told him western Canada he said ‘that explains why you are so polite!’ and thanked me again - so that was very encouraging!
We jumped in the car and headed to Starbucks to get Krista a chai latte. We decided to make a slight change of plans and stop on our way to Cape Cod in beautiful Foxboro to see the New England Patriots Gillette Stadium.
After a 30 minute drive, we arrived to an entertainment Mecca wrapped around the stadium with shopping and entertainment galore. Krista went shopping for 90 minutes while all the guys toured the Hall of Fame. We kicked footballs, caught a couple passes and watched some amazing videos after reading and looking at a ton of memorabilia.
We grabbed lunch at a sandwich joint and headed for beautiful Cape Cod.
After an hour, we finally arrived and toured around a few areas of the marinas and local shops. Darren played some 80s video games.
We ended up at Spankys Clam Shack and had a couple platters of seafood and an incredible bowl of Clam chowder! DELISH!
Back on the highway and a 3 hour long haul trek at 80 mph thru Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut into Stamford. We checked into our hotel then scurried over to Darrens friends Taras and Lida Filewych to see their beautiful new 5000 sq Ft home and meet their darling three children and friends. We had an awesome visit and left just before midnight.
An outstanding day and eager for our next adventure in NYC tomorrow!!
