Tuesday, August 9 No Early morning hike today! Up early and preparing for meetings. The opening Keynote with former Calgary mayor Naheed Nenshi was exceptional and back to back additional meetings with Alberta‘s provincial executive Council and Naheed was extremely informative.  I attended a couple of sessions on collective-bargaining and went to the fun and frolic reception put on by morgex insurance. Was unsuccessful in winning a prize but had some nice beverages and a giant foot-long hotdog before heading over to the entertainment centre where we watched seven films from the Banff international film Festival last October. They were exceptional and it was a wonderful relaxing evening. Another great day in the mountains!

Up at 6 AM and off to the golf course. One of the first to arrive before seven and set up all the golf carts and tents for the players and their caddies. Most of them arrived around 8 AM to prepare for their teetimes from nine until 11 AM. Was finished shortly after lunch and was able to walk around and enjoy some of the final round of golf! Headed home and packed up multiple suitcases and work supplies and headed for the mountains! Arrived in Banff late afternoon, had a bite to eat and walked around the town for a couple hours before calling it a night early.

We spent some time at the top but once the crowds began to arrive, we grabbed a cup of tea and headed back down the mountain. 90 minutes later we arrived in the parking lot, jumped in the car and zoomed back to the Banff centre for our 10:30 AM meetings. Break for lunch and a few more meetings in the afternoon followed by a secondary hike down to the river and out towards the Hoodoos and back in the 30° heat with very little wind! Delegates from around Alberta began to arrive in the afternoon and we had some impromptu meetings w...
